Awesome Hidden House Deep in the Woods

So a while back I heard that there is a house used in an old Liz Taylor flick that is located deep in the woods on the Pt Reyes Peninsula.

I love exploring old structures -- so I had it on my list of things to go and see. It is very remote and takes some effort to get to it.

The land is inside the Pt Reyes National Seashore -- a National Park -- so it is slated to be demolished at some point in the future. I had to go and see and snap some pics before it is gone.

You can't make really it out in the shots, but you can see Tomales Bay from the deck. I also got an inadvertent self-portrait when taking the shot of the door. Good times.

The film was called "Sandpiper" -- I located a picture of the house on a beach as used in the movie for comparison. Too bad they have to tear it down -- it's a sweet little place.
